In some pools, the Zodiac MX8 pool cleaner (it also might happen with other brands) is running over the skimmer hose and the hose becomes trapped under the pool cleaner. This stops the pool cleaner from moving so the system is not working. (see the picture as an example). This usually happened when the hose is much longer than the maximum pool deep. The hose comes standard for pool up to 8ft deep. If you Skimmermotion hose in the deepest area of your pool is too long you can cut it in any of the sections. (Please check our post about how to cut the corrugated hose). If your pool hose is ok but in the shallow area your hose still touch the floor and the cleaner run over it, you can also tie the corrugated hose to the cleaner hose (a Tie Wrap will be good) so the corrugated hose will be oriented toward the surface of the pool and will not be trapped by the cleaner anymore.
Our recommended solution is to connect the SkimmerMotion ONE HOSE APART and cut the hose in excess, typically you will need only 4 segments of 3/4" corrugated hose. (see last picture)
